The Processed Food Industry transforms livestock and agricultural products into products for intermediate or final consumption. Northwest Iowa is one of the nation’s leaders in Processed Foods, and the primary segments of the industry in the region include:

  • Starch and vegetable oil manufacturing
  • Confectionary manufacturing
  • Frozen food manufacturing
  • Fruit and vegetable canning and drying dairy products
  • Ice cream and frozen food manufacturing
  • Bread and bakery product manufacturing
