101 W 1st Street 712-729-3255JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the safe and efficient transport of empty and loaded refrigerated trailers and tankers to support AMPI’s production plan. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time: 1.Maintain all DOT Federal and State qualifications and regulations while moving transport equipment between AMPI properties. 2.Ensure shag truck and trailers are kept in safe working order by conducting required pre-trip inspections and washing the shag truck and trailers as needed. 3.Responsible for the safety and security of company equipment as well as all ingredient and packaging raw materials loaded on this equipment to support production plans. 4.Communicates with warehouse and plant personnel to indicate when/where trailers are located. 5.Records all trailer movements. 6.Records all shag truck and trailer mileage on a scheduled basis. 7.Daily logging according to FMCSA. 8.This position also requires the time to haul any product from the plant as needed. 9.On occasion, serves as a backup to Bulk Milk Hauler position when needed. •Must have a current CDL (Class A) in state of residence. •Must have, or be able to obtain, a tanker endorsement. •Must be at least 21 years of age. •An acceptable Motor Vehicle Report is required and must have a minimum of one year recent tractor/trailer experience. •Two years of recent tractor/trailer experience is preferred. •Must meet all DOT requirements. •MVR: AMPI will not consider applicants that have more than 1 chargeable or preventable motor vehicle accident within the year preceding the date of application. •AMPI will not consider applicants that have more than 1 conviction for violations of motor vehicle laws (other than violations involving parking only) within the year preceding the date of application. •DUI: AMPI will not consider applicants who have incurred a DUI or drug and/or alcohol related convictions during the 7 year period preceding the date of application.
