O’Brien County Tourism to Host Workshop November 7

Primghar, Iowa, October 5, 2016 – O’Brien County Tourism will host a workshop on Mission, Vision, and Governance for O’Brien County’s “Curators of History.” This workshop will be facilitated by the Iowa Museum Association and is scheduled for November 7th from 8:00 a.m. until noon at the Prairie Heritage Center. Organizations and individuals who will find this workshop especially helpful will be librarians and those who serve on a library board, historical societies, and custodians of any historical collection in O’Brien County.

Kiana Johnson, Director of O’Brien County Economic Development Corporation, stated this will be the first of a series of workshops funded by a grant from the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) FY2017 Iowa Tourism Grant cycle. The workshops will be offered free of charge for our O’Brien County organizations and will cover five core industry topics: Mission, Vision, Governance; Management & Planning; Audience & Community Engagement; Interpretation; and Stewardship of Collections. Those who attend will be able to utilize the insights and resources gained in these workshops to help their organizations.

Registration for this event is required and the deadline to register is November 1st.
