The community is invited to attend Ag Summit 2017 on Wednesday, March 22, from 8:15 a.m. to noon, beginning in the Dordt College Campus Center.

The event features keynote speaker Kevin Murphy, owner and founder of Food-Chain communications. Kevin is devoted to helping people within the food system communicate more effectively and to educating both producers and consumers on the impact of the new
food movement.

“The Ag Summit is a combination of three events, including the annual Ag Summit, the annual Ag Appreciation Breakfast, and Dordt College’s Chapel Series,” said Mike Roetman, president of the Chamber Ag Committee. “This kind of collaboration is exceptional and the result of all these entities and people joining together has created an event that will be truly unique and rewarding for the community as well as for area high school and college students. This event has the potential to reach nearly 1000 people and will increase understanding of the implications of changes within the food system.”

The event will consist of a breakfast, a 9 a.m. presentation by Murphy in the Campus Center, a panel discussion at 10 a.m. in B.J. Haan Auditorium, and a final presentation by Murphy at 11a.m. All discussion and presentation will include information on the Christian response to the new food movement. The panel discussion will feature Dr. Daniel Borchers, Sioux Center Vet Clinic; J.T. Dean, Center Fresh Group; and Kevin Murphy.

Ag Summit 2017 is presented by Dordt College and the Sioux Center Chamber of Commerce Ag Committee.

Tickets are $15 and registration is appreciated by Thursday, March 16, by contacting the Chamber Office at (712) 722-3457 or admin@siouxcenterchamber.com.
